Interior Architect
M.A Industrial Design – Accessibily Expert
(1988-1992)she studied Decorative Arts & Interior Architecture in (TEI of Athens).
(1997-1999) Following a scholarship continued her studies in the Netherlands where she obtained a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Design, at the Design Academy of Eindhoven. She received specialization at the Human Factors design (elderly and disabled people). Part of her postgraduate study was at the Aalto University of Helsinki.
(1999-2019)She has been working as well as Design Consultant, Interior Architect and furniture Designer.
(1992-2005)She has been working as a freelance professional in the design of interiors forresidential, commercial and public buildings. At the same time she collaborates with architectural offices for the design and construction of private and public works.
(2004-2019)She works in a furniture design and promotion company as an Interior architect and is involved in the design of furniture.
(1999-2000) Participation in a project study committee of the National Technical University of Athens on the accessibility of all buildings of the Technical University: (Traditional buildings – ZografosCampus). She participated in the writing of Guide for Public Buildings of the Ministry of Health (E.S.D.Y program).
(2014- 2020) During her Academic carrier she has written and presented many research papers concerning Design Theory and Practice, with focus on disabled people’s ergonomic and physiological problems published mainly in Academia.edu and Nordes.org . (The utility of the object. The object as a logical construction. The objective of the object in human praxis. From the Marionettes to Animatronics to Robot. What is design and what is product design . An example presentation of sewing machine through time. Design and Mechanization. Second example presentation of the bicycle history through time.)Publications in a Springer volume with the theme Disability Access and Tourism, attending world conferences.
(2001-2020)She works as Lecturer at the University of West Attica, School of Applied Arts and Culture, Department of Interior Architecture & Industrial Design at the teaching lessons: (principles of Industrial Design, Industrial Design Modeling, Modeling and Innovation, Design Methodology and Industrial Design of Furniture). She has been involved in a number of diploma theses. Student’s works have been awarded in International Contests and published in design magazines.
Student papers and diploma theses have been presented and distinguished at (Index Copenhagen –European Design Forum 2005), published (Ottagon Design magasin 2011), ranked in the top five, with participation in International Competitions (Cumulus – Output-Noinew Elia 2015 Amsterdam-Fabbian contest) , have been awarded the first prize in the Tempo 2014 world competition and finally have been selected in the top ten of the world, with our active stand at AMBIENTE-MESSE FRANKFURT 2018 in Germany as TALENT DESIGNER 2019.
