Dimitris Agathopoulos is a visual artist and new media researcher. He holds a degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Painting, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Master’s degree in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. Additionally, he has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan College Athens.
He currently serves as an Academic Fellow in the Department of Interior Architecture at the School of Applied Arts and Culture, University of West Attica, and as an Adjunct Lecturer in the postgraduate program “Digital Arts” at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
His artistic practice explores the intersections of art, technology, and culture. His work spans 3D sculpting/modeling, expanded animation, AI-driven art, audiovisual narratives through video and sound, Extended Reality (XR) technologies, VR cinema, virtual environment creation through 3D scanning and photogrammetry, projection mapping, digital scenography, and painting.
