Born on the island of Lesvos, Greece. Christos is a BA (Hons) graduate in Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts, and Design from the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens (2016) (now the University of Western Attica) and has a Master’s degree in Product and Furniture Design 2020 of the University of Birmingham, UK.
During his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, he participated in Industrial Design competitions with his first qualification in fifty out of five thousand entries in the international NEU NOW Amsterdam Festival 2015 Competition and in competitions such as that of Fabbian with his participation in fifth place of the public voting. His working experience was as a designer in different design firms in Athens and London and also as a teaching assistant at the University of Birmingham. His next distinction came after the Design of a new ecological material that uses the bio-waste of the olive production process, the koukoutsi eco-material figured among the entries of the London Design Biennale 2021.
In 2021, he begins the production of this material and its use in the manufacture of furniture in his workshop in Lesvos. Finally, the public’s acceptance of this new material was sealed by its nomination at the German Design Awards 2023.
