Dr. Martha Loukia

Loukia Martha Architect desa | Set designer DEA | Doctor of the Technical University of Crete
She studied Architecture at the ECOLE SPECIALE D’ ARCHITECTURE (1994) in Paris. She graduated with honors. After that she got the Onassis Post-Graduate Fellowship and she continued her post-graduate studies in the department THEATRE ET ARTS DU SPECTACLE of the Sorbonne Nouvelle UNIVERSITY, PARIS III. Ιn 1999 she got her DEA with honors, in the section of Set Design. She holds a Doctorate (PHD), (2019 with honors) in the Department of Architecture at the Technical University of Crete.
Her research activity is in Interior Architecture, Design, temporary Architecture, Set Design, Museography, Visual Communication, focusing on exploring the relationship between Architecture and Fine Arts at a conceptual, compositional and practical level.
Her professional activity is in Interior Architecture, Set Design, Museology and Visual Communica-tion. She runs an architectural office which deals with interior design, exhibition design, stage de-sign for the theater, cinema and television, as well as graphic design, in Greece and abroad. She has been distinguished in national and International competitions in the fields of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Design and Graphic Design.
She has published in International Journals which have a System of Judges and she has also pub-lished in the Conference records: Architecture and Performing Arts, Tourism and Architectural Cultural Heritage, Theatrical architectural space and Stage Design, Architecture and Scenography, Visual Communication and Architecture.
From 2005-2020 she has been working as a an Associate at the Athens University of Technology and PADA, in the Department of Interior Architecture, Decoration and Design of Objects having as teaching objects: Interior Architecture, Scenography, Introduction to Design, Design, Design Art. During the educational activities in the course of Scenery she participated with her students’ works in the Prague International Quadrennial of Performance Design and Set Design and the ‘[Out] topias’ exhibition at the Benaki Museum in 2015. She is responsible for the Workshop: [A] Visible Sites I Text I Space I Action, in collaboration with the Departments of Interior Architecture and Photography-Audiovisual with application in historic building residence in Athens. She also organised a workshop called “From Dramatic to Architectural Design using Set Design as vehicle. Artistic – Spatial approaches on the occasion of the exhibition for Loula Anagnostaki”, in collaboration with the PADA School of Interior Architecture and the School of Architecture of the University of Crete. With her work she has participated in exhibitions of Architecture, Stage Design, in Greece and abroad.
